Delicious Outdoor Recipes

sweetwater summit campfire

There are so many interesting ways to cook food outdoors: Dutch oven, solar panels and box oven, stick cooking and buddy burners and much more! The more you know about outdoor cooking the more fun you can have while camping and the more prepared you'll be in the case of a natural disaster like an earthquake or fire.

In October 2010 Sunnytrails Girl Scout service unit in Chula Vista California held a big campout and cookout at Sweetwater Summit Regional Park. There were 23 different troops and stations where we were cooking and demonstrating interesting cooking techniques and cooking methods and trying samples of fabulous outdoor recipes.

We've compiled the amazing recipes and tips from that weekend into a terrific cookbook that you must have if you enjoy outdoor cooking. The cookbook is available for purchase for only $5 and it's packed full of fun and practical outdoor gourmet cooking methods and delicious recipes that you must have!

These recipes are easy and fun for the whole family. You'll actually look forward to the next natural disaster so you can show off your cooking skills.
